M Beem Jewelers represents the best in the ‘boutique’ design / build delivery system.  Mike Beem, having worked in the retail jewelry business for years, came to us, architect in hand, with the vision of opening his own store.  With a limited budget and a pending lease opportunity the team set off to create a space that spoke of the Owners’ personality.  We first assessed the funds available and included in our budget soft costs for items such as furniture and stationary along with realistic design, architectural and construction costs.  A quick analysis led to the realization that a traditional approach to the build out was simply too expensive.  To meet the funding target and keep Mike’s dream alive the design team spun countless ideas while the construction team priced options. The ability to have the complete team available at one desk from the outset saved valuable time and money by submitting, rejecting or modifying options within hours instead of days or weeks. We believe the end result represents a rousing success for this method of delivery.  The project went from conception to completion in less than seven months with a cost 40% below industry standard, all while delivering unique design.  M Beem Jewelers features one of a kind casework, desks and carpet as well as hand painted wallpaper set in a simplicity that exudes comfort and professionalism.  Mike is ecstatic with his space and business is booming!  We are proud to be part of making Mike’s vision a reality.
